Just arrived in Mallorca.
There's Zafiro Palace Hotel in Andratx.
Five-star hotel.
5 nights, 5 guys, ‘cycling’.
(I'm not cycling because my foot's broken).
I've been really lucky in my work and really lucky in my life that I can come to these places sometimes, but I don't live like this.
This is 5-star all the way: service, food, surroundings.
The only problem is that I don't really live 5-star and actually don't really want to (weird?)
The pursuit of everyone here is to do, well, nothing. Just as little as possible. A bit of going to the pool, a bit of drinking cocktails, a little bit of golf.
Some guys are cycling, but not very many. So interesting to watch and interesting to see.
It's wealthy though; there is tonnes of wealth (it's €4 for a Coke Zero).
I wrote about this recently with my friend Stuart and I discussing whether we should try out the new gym up the road which is all singing all dancing, and Stuart told me (obviously) why we would look at something like that, which would make us disappointed with where we were.
It's back to that line by James I put in here recently, ‘If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor’.
Best not to look, sometimes, eh? Can make you dissatisfied with the astonishing and the wonderful things you've got.
As long as you say it's all like Disneyland, a pantomime, then you're fine.

Back in the day, when I got diagnosed with my thyroid disease and I was trying to go and ride the Haute Route 5-day event in the Pyrenees, Alex supported me through that when no one could see. In the lead-up, he even pushed me up a hill.
He wrote a blog after that, which I've kept, and I'll never publish it because I don't have guest bloggers here - sorry.
But I remember it, and I remember it well, and so what he said at the end of that was chapeau, and that is what cyclists say to each other out of respect, and when they are impressed.
