So, firstly, hands up when we don't get it right.
Last night's blog went out with a critical spelling mistake in it, replacing the word dunce with the word dance.
Apparently, the technology related to the video transcription of Slack sees a subtle difference there, which is so subtle that it can’t tell.
It fundamentally changed the blog, and I was contacted by the individual who provided me with the story in the first place to let me know that it lost its impact because of our mistake.
I am sorry that makes it rubbish but sometimes when we change things or the way we do things it comes with advantages and disadvantages.
Ever since I started the blog, we’ve tried different ways to provide it.
If I were to sit and type it day by day, it would never be the thing that it is, and it would never be as long as it is, and it would never have made the connection that it does.
And so, for that, I'm happy to trade off the assistance I get from technology for the fact that sometimes it goes tits up, so that's on me.
We've moved along recently, and I dictate the blogs on Slack, which then gives us an audio recording together with a transcription of the speech, which can then be cut and pasted and formatted and dropped into a blog with an image selected so that it can go every day.
If we did it any other way than this, we’d probably not be able to do it like this and I've watched for years and years of people who have gone from trying to blog daily to weekly to monthly to noneley.
And so, sometimes we'll get it wrong, and sometimes you guys will point it out and then we'll fix it and then we'll go again.
It's a shame because it was a good blog, but the link is here for the corrected version that you might want to read again without the spelling mistake.
We'll never stop making mistakes, and we'll never stop correcting those mistakes and we’ll never stop providing a blog.
HT to Millie, she does all the hard work on this and manages to get it out day by day, despite working with a maniac and so, here we are again today, and we will be again tomorrow.
Thanks.
