Callum and I were watching the presentation of the women’s road race in the World Championships at the weekend and as the winner received her rainbow jersey, medal and flowers ages and ages after the completion of the race, all primped and looking great and relaxed, in the background one of the riders finished their race.

So often in these things at amateur and even professional level when the presentation is going there are other soldiers still completing their day.

All of our bars are set at different levels.

I’ll never win a metaphorical rainbow jersey in anything but I would still like to complete the race regardless of whoever might be getting presented a medal at the time.
