Seth Godin wrote a blog recently called Better than Google.
In it, he introduced us all to another way to use the Internet, which he'd been using for about six months.
It's an AI app called Perplexity.
As I often do with what Seth recommends, I try it: a book, a different way of doing things, and so I tried Perplexity, as he had suggested.
I had some time because I was travelling, so I thought I'd mess about.
it is nothing short of extraordinary, an entirely different way to use the Internet and as Seth puts it in his blog, it also has a pro setting that you pay for, which means that you're the customer, not the product (You know that thing about how bad it is to be the product on social media).
It changes the way you search for things, and the answers it gives you are so usable and functional.
You can also search by voice if you have the pro version.
The pro searches are deeper and more meaningful. You can save all your searches and categorise them so you can go back to the answers. You can use it for any amount of research or work on absolutely anything. It also codes if you're into that stuff.
I was using it for travelling, asking Perplexity what the best way to do this or that was, how to find out where Scottish fans were doing this, or what was happening today. It's extraordinarily accurate and extraordinarily functional.

I'd never search online again after Perplexity using a search engine.
Perplexity and AI-like Perplexity are the ends of the search engine.
