Opportunities missed

Sometimes when we reflect back on days gone by, we think of opportunities that we could have taken which would have catapulted us forwards and made the life of our present selves better or more enhanced.

We curse ourselves for not grabbing with two hands that which was in front of us at the time which was so easy to take which now, on reflection, seems such an easy decision.

Of course, this is a waste of time and a waste of resources and a waste of energy.

As in everything else in life, sunk costs, investments we make with the correct intentions and with the best will in the world never necessarily work out and often go awry.

The person who would take the opportunity now that they see in the rear-view mirror then, is not the person who was presented with the opportunity then.

Opportunities missed often lead to further opportunities opening up that we never dreamed about because our paths take a different turn.
