On the matter of being an innovator

The thing about being an innovator is that you innovate.

And so, when you have finished innovating and reached the end, you begin again and innovate again and move the thing you have made forward to try to make it better and bolder and more helpful to other people than before.

The thing about innovation is that once you create something good, the urge is to protect it, save it, and keep it secret so no one else can copy it.

Why would you want to waste all of that hard work on giving your ideas away to someone else?

The true innovator, though, always gives away because the only way to ensure you continue to innovate is not to keep hold of what you have already made.
