No Such Thing as Writers Block…

When I went to see Seth Godin a couple of years ago lecturing in London he gave everyone a carpenters pencil (unsharpened) with these words on it.

It is a prized procession and it lives on my office desk, I look at it every time it’s difficult to write a blog.

Godin has a philosophy related to this and I think it works.

Write something.

Publish something.

Do something.

Start something.

Interact with someone. What is the worst thing that can happen? If it goes ti*ts up then you have learned what didn’t work and that in itself is entirely valuable. Commit to doing something everyday or every week or every month and then do it. Invariably sometimes it will be better than others and that’s the way it works.
