Money to burn?

Not many people will have money to burn at the other side of this, even two or three weeks from now.

If you are one of those people in a privileged position where you had tons and tons of cash in the bank then you will be fine to sit for a while, although that will be depleted.

If you are not one of those people, and there are many then the anxiety and the difficulty seem almost insurmountable.

The gap between the rich and the poor is liable to get bigger and the unemployment line is liable to get longer, it’s time we looked at what we spent on a day to day basis.

This is where the real benefits will come for the planet and for ecology and all of those things but it will sting and hurt a lot as we lose our lifestyles.

The lucky ones who are at the edge of IT or in some industries connected to things that have benefited from the pandemic will not understand the issues, but for those of us in Dentistry for example which has been as hard hit as Hairdressers and restaurants, a change in lifestyle for the medium term is inevitable whatever that might mean.

This will be less or more severe depending on the individuals involved but it’s probably better that we get our heads around that earlier rather later to give us the chance to adapt more quickly.

It would be nice to have great news on this bank holiday weekend but even a partial reduction in lockdown is not going to get us to where we need to be for a good while yet.
