Little moments of wonder

I'm at Birmingham Airport.

Callum and I are at Gate 47 (the one we sat at when we missed the flight to Glasgow, and I had to drive up in the middle of the night with the crying son - another story).

We're delayed for a flight to Crete, where we are going on holiday for five days.

Callum loves airports.

He doesn't really talk about it much, but over the years, he's loved it, loved watching the planes; he's an engineer at heart, but as we were delayed and late, I went looking for a board and looking for a toilet, and all of a sudden I turned a corner where there was an Emirates plane, sat in all its glory, the same plane I took when I went to China.

I then told Callum to get up and walk and head over to the plane.

I did it as a kind of little surprise, told him to turn left, turn right and then stand at the windows.

When he came back, he was awestruck.

A moment of wonder, of curiosity amid a delayed flight.

I think finding these things are the things that keep me going and the things that keep me interested.

There's one everywhere, isn't there?
