Lessons from sabbatical 4

It’s Saturday night and I have one Sunday left and then I’m back to work on the ‘hamster wheel’.

Except it’s not a hamster wheel.

A couple of lessons though for anyone whom (I really hope) might invent something like this for themselves.

1) It’s not or will ever be the most extraordinary experience of your life because your life continues, it just allows you to see it clearly and decide if you’re travelling in the right direction.

2) You don’t (if you’re me) emerge as a better or fitter or healthier or happier person than that which you came in. You just might have ideas about how you might do that over a longer period of time.

3) You’ll know whether you want to go back or not. That’s life affirming.

See you on Monday.
