I See You

I know that you’re in pain and I know it hurts.

I know its difficult, and at times people don’t seem to understand how difficult it is.

I know the world keeps throwing bits of s**t at you and sometimes It seems to stick, and you cannot get it off.

I understand if things are too fast and there just seems more and more ways for people to ask you to do more and more things, to take away more and more from what used to be you.

I know that, because it is the same, for every single person.

When we’re in the shower, or when we’re looking at our self in the mirror, and honestly talking to our self, about how hard it is, or what needs to be done, or how unfair it feels sometimes, that is the same for everyone.

I watched The Tour De France this year (as I always do).

There is always a metaphor from that event; Thomas didn’t win, but his teammate Barnal, did.

Barnal is 22, what a wonderful personality with what looks like a wonderful family set up (from Columbia) a star for the future.

Barnal, spoke about the Tour as a war and Thomas, who was so gracious in coming second, in defence of last years tour victory, spoke about what it would be like when he is 45 and fat and, in the pub, watching Barnal win his 10th Tour.

It’s hellish difficult, to win the tour for these guys; but I suspect it will be at least as difficult to be fat and, in the pub.
