Driving to work the other day (yes driving) – there’s a blog in that.
I was listening to 5 live on the radio and Nicky Campbell was doing his phone-in.
Basically, the question for the phone-in was this “1) accept a national lockdown, accept the damage that will cause the economy, accept the effect that will have on mental health and accept the deaths that will occur or 2) have no national lockdown, accept the damage that will cause the economy, accept the effects that will have on mental health and accept the deaths that will occur”.
Roll the dice, pay your money, take your choice.
There is no right answer here and therefore there is no wrong answer here, there is only the best path that we can take together.
If every single person does a little bit more then everything will be a lot better.
It’s hard to do that when the people at the very top of the tree seem to flout the rules at every possible opportunity (the way we all want to do). Collaboration will work and individuality and isolation will not.
We survived the Spanish flu and the great depression and two world wars (much worse than this, at least so far), we will survive this and there is another side. It’s just like always at these times.
The journey is bumpy and it’s easier if we share it.
