My daughter Grace has been at University now since the end of September.

She moved away ten days before her course started to see whether she could meet people and settle in, in the strangest of years to begin to be a student.

We had long discussions before she went about whether she should go and in fact she was caught up in the ‘exam scandal’ which meant her first choice of Edinburgh University was taken away and she went to Birmingham instead.

In the discussions about should you go or should you defer, the overriding theme for us was ‘get it done’.

You can wait until everything is 'alright', but it won’t be alright again.

It won’t be alright again if alright means exactly the same as it was last October, things are different now and will continue to be different in one way or another for many, many people.

In the same theme, this week marks the launch of our 2021 Education Programme for The Campbell Academy.

We could wait to see if things will be different in November or December or January or February etc. etc. etc. or we could go and then adapt to what we find.

‘Ready, fire, aim’ has always been one of my slogans, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse.

There has never, ever been a time where ready, fire, aim is more appropriate than it is now.

Full details of the education programme are here, we hope you’ll ready, fire, aim with us because we’ll get you through 2021 and it’s much better a year from now to have it done than to be waiting for things to be alright.
