Expectations and World View

Sometimes it’s just not possible to align the world view of individuals.

This doesn’t necessarily mean in a religious sense of a cultural sense, or from a point of view of race, sometimes it just means that regardless of how much you offer someone in a service environment you’re just not as good as the person they used to have all those years ago.

In my line of work this happens from time to time, regardless of how hard we try it just isn’t good enough.

The best thing to do in those circumstances is to politely have the conversation that says “I’m really sorry that we can’t meet your expectations despite how hard we’ve tried”.

It’s best to fail fast and to lose quickly than to let that one go.

In only by doing that can you be rest assured that there will be another one along in a minute who sees the world in the way that you do, understands the way that you do things, appreciates it and wants to work with you for the long-term.
