Throughout the ages there have been tale after tale of people who have tried to be excellent and failed.
In 2012 I wrote a blog about Jody Cundy which is called ‘ The good guy doesn’t always win’ and you can read it here!
I do not consider myself to be excellent in anything but I do consider that in some aspects of my life I at least try to pursue that hardest of objectives.
So, I guess when someone turns me down or it doesn’t work; the effect on the ego is devastating.
More importantly the pursuit of excellence is the development of resilience.
The resilience is required because the harsh reality is that excellence doesn’t always win.
