We are busy with events at the moment but this is just an early call for anyone interested to be a speaker for next years DES conference on 21st June 2018.
In case you are unaware DES stands for Dentistry Education and Scones because we wanted to put together a conference which had great food (we always thought conference food was terrible) and had fantastic, snappy and innovative 18 minute lectures with a chance for discussion afterwards from people who just want to make a difference and share something with the dental profession.
The last one was a great success and in fact the highlight was James Russell trying to fit everything about a line, bleach, and bond into an 18-minute lecture. If you don’t complete your talk in 18 minutes you get air horned off the stage and there is a countdown running beside you that you can very clearly see.
Everyone that spoke at the last one was tremendous. This is a call for speakers, anyone who might be interested in putting together an 18-minute lecture to a group of dentists and dental professionals. Similar to that very famous three letter conference but not the same in case we get sued. It turns out that 18 minutes is absolutely long enough to get a fantastic point across. We are happy to pay all expenses for people coming to speak and we might even have some money left over to pay a bit of a lecture fee to the guys that speak but I can’t promise that it will be an amazing money earner, it will just be a fantastic chance to speak to a group about something cool for 18 minutes.
