Imagine you counted down instead of counting up.
We celebrate our big birthdays, ‘Happy 21st’ and ‘Congratulations you made it to 40’.
If I was a male boy now born in the UK my life expectancy would be 78.2 years, counting down, I have 32 left (if I’m lucky). Doesn’t counting down change the philosophy?
It is already late.
Time is running out.
I see many people give away their health in the pursuit of wealth so that they have some sort of ‘virtual pot’ for when they are old and broken. I think we count up too much. I think we should start to count down.
