… This GDPR thing is interesting. It reminds me of HTMO1-05 (cross infection guidelines for dentistry from years ago) and also when the CQC was launched.
In both of those examples everyone ran around like their hair was on fire and like the end of the world was coming, of course it wasn’t and it didn’t.
GDPR is the same, it will blow away like a fart in the wind, everybody will still get up in the morning and everybody will still go to work.
In the end, it’s not about how big your list is it’s about how many people engage in the stuff that you send.
A fantastic list of 20 people is much better than a terrible list of 200,000.
For that reason, we’re closing down this list of contacts for the Colin blog.
We thought about various different ways of doing this (but we didn’t think too hard because we didn’t want to waste too much time on it).
In the end, we decided on this…
I’m going to have to ask you to click below and OPT IN if you still want to receive the blog.
It’s only one click, but it will prove that people are actually interested to get it and those who aren’t interested or never read it but are subscribed in any event will be killed off and a new list will begin.
You can flip these things round one way or another but I see this as a positive opportunity to distil down the people that engage with this little piece of writing into a group who are truly interested in it and will contact back.
