Climbing up the Pyramid

Mostly, what we crave is to climb another step up the pyramid.

When we work in this position we want to work in the position above.

When we compete at this level we want to compete at the level above.

Sadly, when we earn at this level we want to earn at the level above.

To move up a level, to cross a threshold or to break through the ceiling of glass usually takes an extraordinary amount of effort over a period of time before we ‘pop through’.

Generally, once we pop through we don’t go back and the people that we admire who exist above us on the ladder are prepared to make the sacrifices to get there in the first place.

In the world of ‘everything now’ people refuse to accept or observe the fact that the guy who got there before us often, almost (but not quite) broke them self in the getting.

Wanting to move up is absolutely fine but just remember it will cost you in time, effort and emotion.

You only get so many chances to move up in a few restricted areas.

Choose wisely.
