That is the worst argument for keeping things the same, accepting a current status quo just because it suits you.

‘Just because it’s always been like this’ is likely to lead to death as the tide comes in and swallows up your little island.

Don’t get me wrong there are days when all I won’t is for the world to stay exactly the same.

For my children to never grow up.

For me to not grow any older.

For the winter not to come and the summer to stay.

But it doesn’t happen; we have a very short view of history.

Because things have been like this for the last 5 years doesn’t mean they have been like this for the last 100 and it certainly doesn’t mean it will be like this next year.

Making sure we’re fit enough, healthy enough, clever and strong enough to face an ever changing world and one that changes more quickly will be the only way for us (and our children) to make it through.
