Sometimes we climb a ladder because it’s close and sometimes because we get a lucky break.
Sometimes we climb one because it’s the only one we can find and sometimes someone points us in the direction of a ladder which seems to suit us.
Too few times do we step back and look at the ladder and see where it finishes and decide that it’s going to the right place, climbing to the right heights and safe enough.
Choosing your ladder carefully and stepping off the ladder early when you realise it’s not going in the right direction is a lot better than getting to the top of your ladder and realising it’s against the wrong wall.
