Brothers We stand

Just a short story to make you smile about a business which is absolutely fantastic and extremely 21st century.

Brothers We Stand is an ethical clothing company which supplies a range of products from different suppliers which are fair trade and don’t damage either the people or the planet (too much to provide them).

I realise that most people don’t have any interest in this type of thing, not because they don’t care but because they’re too busy to pay attention, but if you were to take a look at the corporate responsibility page of Brothers We Stand you’d understand what a good company in the 21st century might look like.

So the story goes like this…

The first time I ordered two t-shirts from Brothers We Stand they didn’t have one of them in the right size. I got an email from Jonathan the founder apologising and saying that he didn’t know how it had happened that the stock was short but I was able to order online. It was dead easy, I just picked another t-shirt and I was grateful for the contact.

I ordered some more stuff recently and he got back to say again that he was really sorry but they had had a crazy week last week and the t-shirt size I wanted was out of stock. Not being a fashion icon (as any of you who know me will clearly know) I just asked Jonathan to choose one from the stock that he thought I’d like based on what I’d bought before. He emailed back to say that he was so grateful for my support that he was sending me two.

A true moment of commercial joy in the midst of a busy, mad day. Enough to make me want to write a blog to say, the website is here and next time you’re thinking of buying something from TK Maxx, why not adopt the ‘one for the price of two’ concept and help guys somewhere less fortunate than us make a living while not damaging things too much for your kids in the future.

Cool stuff as well.
