Film – The Pirates!  - In an adventure with scientists

As a family we have always loved everything one by Aardman Animation, from the Wallace and Gromits to Chicken Run and pretty much anything else. My kids (particularly Callum) have sat four hours in front “Ollis and Gromit” with big belly laughs out loud all the way through.

We were delighted when we saw The Pirates! Being advertised and decided to take my kids and some of their friends to see this in the Easter Holidays.

BIG DISSAPOINTMENT!!

I was just really expecting belly laughs everywhere and a real enjoyable film for the kids and the adults. Don’t get me wrong, the animation is fantastic and the whole thing looks absolutely stunning on the big screen but it just wasn’t as funny as it should have been and I just couldn’t help thinking that it had been  “dumbed down” for an American audience as these things sometimes are.

Disappointing 3 out of 10 – I don’t recommend that you go out of your way to see this.
