A storm of swords – steel and snow

I do apologise but for those of you who have not caught any of the previous blogs about books and have not read my description of Game of Thrones, this is the second chance to hit this series by George R.R Martin.

These books are absolutely epic, fantastically written and so easy to lose yourself in. They have consumed my life to the point where I can’t read anything else at the moment and because the books are so big and there are 8 in the series I think I am going to be at it for some time.

The second in the series carries on seamlessly from the first and the way the book is written with none sequential chapters titled in the characters name is absolutely fantastic. Each chapter jumps from character to character to character (and there are many) and follows their stories through this epic tale.

It is violent and brutal but also stunning and fantastic and anybody who likes anything to do with the fantasy style of writing should be all over these books and all over the television series.
