Beyond boredom part 2

The ability to be bored in order to see a better future generally (in my experience) comes to people who are independent of finance (IOF).

Independence of finance does not mean that you’re financially independent. Financially independent people have enough money to do whatever they want, people who are IOF manage with what they have and pick out more important parts of their life than just making money for making money's sake.

When you get to the situation where you can breath in IOF, you realise that ‘it’s already late’.

‘It’s already late’ came to me from a lecture by someone called Nigel May Barlow where he explained that the time to start doing something is a year ago not tomorrow.

That seems counter-intuitive because to be busy doing the stuff that’s important means you don’t have the time to be bored and therefore these last two blogs are completely irrelevant.

But, when you realise it’s already late and you’re independent of finance then you understand that you must take time to sit and think about things and to re-frame the direction that you’re travelling in lest you find out that your ladder is up against the wrong wall.

It’s easy for all of us to run about like worker ants pretending that we’re doing things which are huge and significant and important in some way or another.

It takes bravery to sit back and wait and to see whether you’re doing the right thing or not.

That’s what happens when you go beyond boredom, its what happens when you go beyond silence, it takes you to another place to think about things deeper and more importantly to head in the right direction.
