I was on holiday last week in Croatia, it was the first time I have ever been and it’s an extraordinary place. I took my family to Dubrovnik.

Before I went and after I had been everybody said what a beautiful place Croatia is and what wonderful people are there and that is everything that we experienced. We swam in the sea in water like I had never seen before, blue, green and clear; you could see 20ft to the bottom! We explored the island of Lokrum and the museum of Richard the Lion Heart. We explored the ancient city of Dubrovnik.

We hired a villa through someone called 'Croatia Gems', 6 miles south of Dubrovnik. It was utterly beautiful and we had a balcony at the front of the villa which overlooked the bay of Mlini. Most of the blogs that you read around this time were created sitting on that balcony for an hour in the sunshine just contemplating life, love and everything else.

I never expected that to happen, and I never expected so many blogs to come out of such a short period of peace and quiet when everyone else was busying themselves doing holiday activities around the villa.

Isn’t it interesting where creativity comes from? Some people have the ability to force it out, to lock themselves into a specific space to let things to come and happen, but to me the less I try the more it happens and the more I try... well it’s the other way around.

If I were to return back to the blog balcony tomorrow I bet the same thing wouldn’t happen again.
