As well or Instead?

As a person who has not been renowned, in the past, for being good at this decision, it is perhaps worth a little bit of exploration and discussion in this page.

Instead is to make a choice between one thing or another. It is to have focus and vision and direction. It is to have the confidence to be able to exclude something else for the attention to this and to make this better without distraction or any other head turning instinct.

As well is to want it all.

As well is perhaps one of the most destructive instincts that we have and one which pervades through society now every single place you look.

As well is to want chocolate and vanilla ice cream at the same time.

As well is to want Domino’s pizza and full fat coke.

As well is to want a big house and a fast car and the ‘best looking’ wife and the most exotic holidays and the best dental practice and the best body and the nicest bike and the best behaved children, etcetera…etcetera…etcetera.

There is no strength in as well.

There is only the smashing of yourself against the wall, the insurmountable wall of impossibility.

The strength is in instead.

I have, as I suggested above, not been renowned for being so good at this decision.

This week I bought a new CBCT machine for my practice instead of a Tesla.

It feels good to reflect on that.

It feels like that was a ‘strong’ decision.
