Always selling, all the time

I used to have a problem with this until I read Dan Pink’s To Sell is Human.

This week was the sales module on the business course (combined with leadership and strategy).

Once we understand that all of us (regardless of our roles or position in life) are almost always selling all the time, then we can get on with the difficult job of selling truthfully and ethically and honestly.

If you've ever asked your teenager to do something and then try to convince them or tried to explain to your wife the difficult concept of why you have to work away (yet again) or tried to negotiate something at school or in a shop or anywhere else for that matter, then you're selling.

Understanding that we're always selling is the first step to be able to sell properly and well.
