Initially, there's excitement, a vision of where you can get to and what it will be like when 'you've arrived.'
The riches, the wealth of other types, the recognition, the feeling of satisfaction, it's all worth it. Let's go; it's time to go.
After that comes to work, or what Seth Godin called 'the dip', is when you have to work through the grind.
Just because you thought it was a good idea doesn't mean anybody else thinks it's a good idea until you've actually created something that other people want, that will attract their attention and make them invest their time or their money or their attention.
Most people fail in a dip because it's too hard or too long.
The guys that you see that made it all worked through it.
