A couple of courses coming up for any implant guys that might be interested as part of the annual TCA program. Firstly, the guided surgery master class which is on the 13th June. We have a one day introduction to guided surgery coming up in a few weeks time. This is quite an inexpensive way to have a look at guided surgery in some detail and see if it’s something for you. It follows on from what I presented at the Henry Schein Digital Symposium and covers guided surgery from CBCT/Intra oral scanning aspects and provision of surgical guides and the surgery its self. We cover two formats with Serona’s guided surgery set up and Co diagnostics which is a third party guided surgery set up and you can see both of them and see examples of guides milled on both of those systems.

It takes you all the way through the basic nuts and bolts of guided surgery and the pros and cons. What is good and what is not and gives you a very balanced understanding of the subject before you go any further. So if you’re interested then let us know.

The second is after summer, on the 20th September. A master class with Steve Barter, former chairman of the UK and Ireland ITI who sits globally on committee’s for the ITI in Switzerland. Steve has written the lastest ITI treatment guide, which is treatment in elderly patients. This is something in implant dentistry that any of us who are staying for any length of time will be becoming more and more aware of and more and more exposed to. Its an extraordinary book, the treatment guide, and provides some excellent strategies in treatment of elderly patients and the difficulties that they bring with them including the challenges of the actual treatment and the challenges of the patients themselves.

He will also provide us an ITI club in the evening and if you are not an ITI member you can always attend as a guest if you’ve been to less than two of these. If you would like to do this then let us know, the ITI study clubs are free of charge.

The master class rates are £350 + VAT. If you’re interested in either of these dates then give us a shout and we will get your name down straight away, thanks.
