As I walked out of Queens Medical Centre the other night after seeing my friend Paul in the Major Trauma Unit, after coming off his bike, I counted 5, this year (almost).

It’s about 13 months since Dom was injured by the truck and then there was Beef (Mark), I ride with him on a Sunday, he went down and broke his hip.

Then James. James is gone.

Then another that David knows, that I have met, but don’t know well, terribly injured, on his bike.

Then Paul.

I can’t think of anybody that I know who has been hurt in a car accident, in the last year, only one or two in my life.

It’s dangerous this cycling s**t.

It’s getting worse.
