12 Days of Christmas Part 6 - Training Peaks

Part 6 brings me to Training Peaks.

This is for people who ride a bike or run, swim, or that any of those kind of things.

I got into this years ago when I was introduced by my first ever triathlon coach as a way of setting my weekly session goals for exercising.

You have to pay for Training Peaks so you have to be pretty much into it and it doesn’t look quite as cool as some of the other platforms, but over time, it builds analytics based on your cycling or your running, which gives you motivation in itself and it is extraordinary.

With a little bit of practice, you can set your weeks in advance (or better still, a coach can) and you can start to smash off goals and achievements.

The real beauty of Training Peaks is when you start to develop retrospective data so you can see where you were last year and the year before.

I often find that this consoles when I'm feeling bad about myself, then I realise that I live in a yearly cycle pattern, where I am better in the summer and worse in the winter.

You might think that it is not worth the money or you might think of something better, it is not a social media programme like Strava so it lets you keep everything you want to yourself where only you can see it and in the end in these days, I think that is better.
