The first place we (I) start when I look at something new - maybe it's a group of people that i've been asked to help, maybe it's a project that I'm running at work or maybe it's a training plan I'm trying to write for the winter (I'm already thinking about that now) - the first thing to think about is the vision.
What are we trying to achieve?
Where are we trying to go?
What is the philosophy behind the project?
That is really, really important when you're doing it for yourself, but it's absolutely fundamentally important when others are involved.
The value of being able to communicate your vision, to put it into words, to say it, to make it clear, that's the story that binds people together like glue.
It's why vision setting is so important, so critical.
It's why you should spend time getting it right.
It's also why you should believe it.
If you don't believe it, you'll never sell it and if you don't sell it, they'll never follow... especially through the hard times.
