Underachieving vs underperforming

The first is not reaching your target.

The second is not reaching your potential.

There is a subtle but extraordinarily important difference between the two.

If you’re underperforming that’s on you.

If you’re underachieving you might just have set your targets out of sight for the circumstances that you find yourself in.

Let’s just do the best we can with what we have because in the end we can’t do any better than that.
