The Slow Death

We are hardwired to complain when we're indignant.

Red with rage for the thing that upsets us terribly in the moment, becoming the keyboard warrior or the shouter or the aggressive interventionalist who needs to be heard.

But for the other stuff, the stuff which doesn't poke us with a stick quite so hard, the mediocrity that we see every day, we just turn away, we don't shout, and we don't scream, we don't push, and we don't jump up and down, we just walk away and let it fester until it dies.

You see this everywhere you look if you open your eyes: companies and organisations just wallowing along in mediocrity, heading towards a slow death.
