The anonymous thank you

Recently I had to interact with the guys at a local leisure centre because I want to start swimming again (that’s a whole series of blogs that we might get to later).

I set up my online portal and I was unable to book sessions and I tried and tried, and it drove me mad.

This is a council leisure centre (great facility though) ran by a private organization.

I contacted them via a form on the website and did not hope for the best.

Within 12 hours I had received a reply from a lady saying that she had sorted everything out, gave me a new password and told me how to change it and booked on.

Bang, fixed!

A lovely reply and a solution to the problem all sorted. There was a reply button at the bottom to her email so I clicked reply and told her it was great, and the service was astonishing and that I would recommend to other people.

I’ll never hear from that lady again and nor should I but I hope she smiles when she reads her emails.

Sometimes it doesn’t matter that we don’t see or hear from the people we say “thank you” to. When things get darker being nice and saying thanks gets more and more important.
