God, is it really that time again where we start talking about a course that’s going to start in January of next year. This seems to get earlier and earlier.
The TCA Year Implant Course is our flagship course, now entering its 5th year in 2020. You can find out more here.
This is perhaps where we have made the biggest difference to implant dentistry. Since we have started, clinicians have come and learned about straight forward implant dentistry, start to finish in a year.
We like to think that this isn’t like any other course. Because of the way that it’s taught, because of the interaction that people get throughout the year, and because of the live surgery exposure that they get and how that’s shared between the group.
All of our bigger courses come with a Slack discussion platform group which is truly outstanding. The guys from the first ever Year Implant Course are still talking on their group!
This gives you the opportunity to share the learning techniques and the knowledge, the tips, the exposure and the experience through the course and to continue this on afterwards. We continue to pay for that group as long as the group continues to use it.
You get the opportunity to bring patients through the course and to treat them, not just on your own in a mentoring environment but with all your course colleagues, and that amplifies the learning massively.
A shared experience and all that!
You get a range of speakers that gives different perspectives on implant dentistry from Colin Burns, who is the chairman of the UK and Ireland ITI Section, Michael Bornstein, who is one of the world authorities on CBCT, basic surgical skills teaching with Anna McDonagh and the support of the guys from the clinic, including myself, Andy Legg and Beatriz Sanchez.
We even have an ethics slot as part of our Year Implant Course now, which is absolutely fundamental to the way that we go about our dentistry.
The aim of the course is to take delegates through straight forward implant dentistry from start to finish, so that they leave the course competent and confident in beginning the delivery of straight forward implant dentistry in their own environment.
We aim to hitch them up with a mentoring arrangement, which will push them forwards into their implant career and catapult them into the next 5 years of learning as they go from straight forward through advanced and hopefully to complex implant treatments to take them out to the other side as a competent and capable everyday implant practitioner.
You get the chance to be introduced to lots of different people at lots of different stages and to be able to learn from their mistakes. You become part of a tribe of people who’ve already been through this process or are going through it at the moment.
One of the big, big selling points this year is that this will be one of the first courses to start in the brand-new Campbell Clinic, which will be opened in January 2020. If you’ve been holding off, or thinking about a course to do, and you perhaps want to start you implant career at one of the most extraordinary teaching venues in dentistry, then give us a shout and leave your details below!
