Riddle me this

Business is about making money isn’t it?

Once it is about making money it is about making more money.

Once it is about making more money it is about making as much money as possible.

Push healthcare or healthcare concepts into that equation and then it becomes an almost unsolvable puzzle.

If you’re not going forwards, you are going backwards, there is no neutral gear, not for any reasonable time.

So, your business must work in health care and it must make money but as soon as it passes over that invisible line to be a profit driven business, it stops or begins to stop being a healthcare business.

On the face of it, people would like to buy healthcare, but it comes with emotional baggage, which makes it different to selling computers.

So how do you solve the puzzle?

I believe the first way is to be entirely clear about why you are doing it.

If you are clear about what you’re trying to do and who you are trying to serve, it clears much of the clutter and the fog.

Once you are absolutely clear about that, then you can begin to tell a story about the thing you are absolutely clear about.

If you tell the story correctly, you will attract people like you because “people like us do things like this”.

Once you attract people like you, you can begin to provide the service that you promised you would provide, and you can ask them to invite more people like you.

In amongst this you must count it (obsessively and meticulously). You must develop a team and the systems to support a team and the space to dream and to build your puzzle. Once you have done that, you can write a recipe and you can begin to try to work the recipe, adjusting, manipulating and moving where necessary, but always with your original purpose in sight.

The goal posts never stay still, and the riddle remains, but the clarity of doing the thing that you set out to do in the first place is what drives you forwards to achieve something to be proud of. “Profit is like oxygen but a profit to business is like oxygen to life. Oxygen is not the meaning of life, but it is essential to life as profit is not the meaning of business, but it is essential to business”.

What I have just described above is The Campbell academy Business Course. 6 modules of 2 days each, over a year.

Join the tribe, make friends for life and learn lifetime value within your business the like of which you have never seen before.

In February we enter our fourth year. There is no one I can remember who has attended this course who has not made their initial investment back in the first two modules.

There are some testimonials here and here.

If you’re interested, please contact Tom at tom@campbellacademy.co.uk or download the brochure from here.

P.S. If you’re a Straumann surgical user, you can have a big discount on the course, the standard fee including VAT is £8,400 for 2 people to attend (practice manager and principle or any designated two) for Straumann customers it is £7,200.
