More media doesn’t fix it

I recently took the plunge after 20 years and brought Sky TV into the house, mostly so Callum can watch football.

I subscribed for 2 boxes, 1 in my living room and 1 in another room but the 1 in the living room isn’t working at the moment and I haven’t got round to fixing it!

I signed up for the movies too but I also have Apple TV and Amazon prime and Netflix.

This is all at odds to what was going on during the first lockdown when I cut every subscription out of my life but now I find that we are quite well equipped for options to choose from in terms of streaming our television, even though I paid to watch the bond movie the other night by buying it for £14.

I’ve got apple podcasts and I get a credit every month in my subscription to aduible for audiobooks.

I got another book given to me yesterday by someone else to add to the pile on my bedside table which is massive.

I’ve not bought a kindle ever because I can’t face it.

I have a mobile phone which has limited apps on it but it still has BBC on the web browser and my personal emails and my pretend snapchat account (see previous blog here).

I’ve got lots of apps on my phone for ‘efficiency’ including Asana and various others.

What I don’t need is anymore media.

In order for me to even scratch the surface of any of these things that I’ve got, I would need 5 times the amount of time that I have.

More media doesn’t fix it.

Understanding how to use the media for the purposes and direction you’re looking for is what works.
