DDEP stands for the Digital Dental Entrepreneurial Program, which The Campbell Academy has developed for the International Team for Implantology.
If and when you see this advertised or promoted, you will see it promoted as the ITI's Digital Dental Entrepreneurial Program powered by The Campbell Academy.
This is huge for us.
In April of this year, I was invited to Basel to provide a presentation on digital business education.
This has been called practice management education for forever and a day, but this is wrong.
Learning the principles of business to help run a small business is just common sense, and one of the aspects that you need to understand is practice management, but practice management is the skills and tools and abilities that your practice manager requires.
You are not your practice manager except in the smallest dental practices.
Whenever we set up a small business, we start the process by occupying every single position in the business ourselves. Then the key is to work ourselves up to the higher levels of the business by appointing and empowering, and developing skilled and talented people who match our values for the other aspects of the business positions on the organisational chart.
Fundamentally understanding this is to fundamentally understand 'how to build a business', and businesses definitely need to be built.
In 2017, we began teaching our business course, which is a year-long business course for dental practices to teach them the principles of dental business (as far as we had learned and understood) and to apply that over a year and six 2-day modules to build a detailed and formal three-year business plan to catapult their practice and business forward.
We have countless tales of people who have excelled following that course and who would be happy to speak to anyone to tell them how much their practices have grown and developed.
Many people's practices have doubled, tripled or quadrupled in value and turnover and profit levels due to understanding the basic principles of dental business.
Aside from this, though, people's lives have been improved because they have the ability to build a team and delegate tasks to the team, removing or reducing the standard overwhelm that small businesses tend to attract.
At the meeting at the ITI headquarters in Basel, I presented the history of the dental business course and the online dental business course, and immediately in that meeting, 'they bought it'.
They asked if The Campbell Academy would be prepared to go into partnership (70% us and 30% ITI) to provide a dental business course for 100 countries.
This was huge for us, but that was just the beginning.
We've been asked to provide five articles on dental business for the ITI's Journal.
We've been asked to develop a five-day on-site dental business course, which is also portable to different countries.
I have been asked to speak at the South African National dental conference on behalf of the ITI, and I travel to South Africa for a week next Wednesday.
Following on from this, there's a longer-term plan to write a book related to dental business to help the ITI and its members and its reach have better lives and better circumstances to treat their patients in a better way.
The start of this is the Digital Dental Entrepreneurial Program powered by The Campbell Academy, which starts on the 6th of October, 2023.

We'd love to see you.
It's a six-week online business course (one-week onboarding, one week of summarising at the end and four weeks of content).
Walk out with your business plan for the next three years and a much greater understanding of how to run a dental business from dentists who have done it before and who have made most of the mistakes it's possible to make.
I hope we can see you there.
