The Year Implant Course

Following on from the previous blog on this subject, which you can read here, our Year Implant Course is what we feel is the ideal starting point for implant dentistry for general dental practitioners.

This course is not only based on lecture content or slides you put in a Dropbox folder; it has tonnes and tonnes of practical elements on models, pigs heads and all sorts of practical work because implant dentistry is a practical craft.

It has a range of brilliant speakers, some of whom have been through the course themselves and some of whom are much more experienced than that.

It has a live surgery on patients, either our patients or your patients, that you bring to the Clinic and where you perform live on camera for everyone else to see and learn and discuss.

Those are some of the most important days when people place their first implants, support each other, and celebrate.

We have fantastic course meals so that everybody can integrate and get together, and the innovative and unique discussion platform Slack, which allows people to share any media they like with the confidence that they're in a closed space and a safe place.

And then we have mentoring. Everybody who comes out of that course gets assigned a mentor to take the skills and move them along.

This is perhaps one of the most essential aspects, but the course is much more than that.

It's so much more than the listed syllabus and detailed content.

It's all the conversations in the coffee breaks.

It's the games of table football.

It's the chats over a beer or a soft drink when you come to the meal about where you're going next and how it will work in your place.

It's the lectures on marketing and how to access patients.

It's the discussions about dental business and how implant dentistry fits into the model of your practice.

For some people, it's a year-long course, and then they're done.

For others, it's a journey to Year Two and then Year Three, and for some, they come back and teach on the course as colleagues and friends and fellows in implant dentistry.

All of the courses are linked through the ITI Online Curriculum, so there is an extraordinary global platform that allows you to learn side by side with all the curriculum you get at the Clinic.

We've worked very hard and very long on perfecting this course, but we're so proud of what we've got that we're happy to say we think it's probably one of the best around.
