The town behind looks brighter, easier and safer than the road in front.
As I think back to ‘how things were’ it seems to feel safe but as I read back to what I wrote then and particularly what I wrote to myself, it never did.
I always had concerns and worries and difficulties, some bigger and some smaller but always there.
I was never ‘nearly finished’, I was always half done, always wondering when I was going to find the time to do the next thing that was super important.
That’s no different to now, in fact it’s exactly the same. The problems change but the feelings stay the same and it always looks better behind you.
