In the middle of life

I am a complex mixture and recipe of some terrible and horrible things that have happened to me and to people that I love.

When I think about it for too long it hurts.

Mixed in with all of that though, are some of the most incredible and wonderful experiences that anyone could possibly imagine. When I think about that the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and I fill with pride and joy.

Mix that all together and it’s complicated.

It’s the same for you.

Everybody that you walk past in the street is a complex mixture of all of these things and everything that goes into them comes out in their decisions that they make.

In the middle of all the madness (and today was particularly mad) we sometimes have to make decisions which ask us to go left or go right.

Today I hit a crossroad, left or right. Big, huge decisions which could finish me off.

I picked a decision and I went.

I went forwards.

Forwards isn't safe, not necessarily but forwards is forwards and it goes to somewhere else.

I am not here to vegetate. I am here to try and make a difference.

I appreciate that my view of making a difference is a mixture of all of those complicated good and bad things that might not be the same as yours.

But try to make a difference I will.

I am not here to sit in a chair and survive safely.

And I don’t think you are either.
