Well apart from that, there are one or two.
On the 27th December I decided to stop eating chocolate for the foreseeable future in an effort to get myself as lean and slim as possible for the races I was doing in 2013.
I am still off the chocolate but I ma disappointed to announce that it has made no difference to my weight because I seem to have replaced the calories with other things.
That said, there has been one distinct benefit to giving up chocolate and that has been that when I have been out for a meal and decided to have a dessert, which is not all the time, I can’t have a chocolate one and so I have chosen things that I have never had before and quite enjoyed them. My default position in a restaurant has always been a chocolate dessert but now I have had to explore other areas of culinary delights and it has opened another world up for me.
As I get older I am sure I become more set in my ways and less adaptable to change so little things like this do help me step outside the box and try something new.
