At The Campbell Academy we believe there are four key ingredients to the ideal dental implant course:

  1. Exceptional theoretical and practical teaching, from people who have experience in different aspects of implant dentistry.

This is a given, and one that every course will tell you that they have. The quality of the educators and the philosophies of how the education is provided is essential, the ability to mix lecture based learning with discussion, interactive exercises and practical teaching on models and specimens is absolutely essential, but not the only part.

  1. Practical clinical experience

Any dental implant course needs to be able to allow you to place dental implants on patients. Therefore, to utilise the skills that you have learned in point 1 and apply them in point 2 in supervised conditions. Without this you will never submit the knowledge and can never move forwards. Practice of your practical skills is a fundamental ingredient in an implant course.

  1. Mentoring

Mentoring is absolutely essential. The ability to work with a trusted colleague to discuss case selection, case execution and case reflection are essential elements of development in any clinical skill and it’s hard to see how anyone can develop without it.

  1. Peer Review and collaboration

It’s one thing to be taught by an experienced implant practitioner, and to have them discuss with you your cases and how you might proceed but it’s another to share it with your peers who are on the same journey. This is some of the best and most exciting education opportunities.

We believe that these four elements and ingredients of dental implant courses are essential to move delegates forwards and along a pathway towards placing 50 dental implants per year or more, which we believe is fundamental.
