A new twist on an old product.

I have been a Geistlich customer and a Bio-Oss and Bio-Gide user since 1998 and I do believe it is the best product on the market for its purpose.

I have now used it within the practice over 1000 times and we feel it provides the best long-term results for our patients, which is why we continue to be associated with the company and the products.

You may be aware that recently Geistlich re-presented Bio-Oss (a bovine bone mineral product for GBR procedures) in a quite simple syringe device to deposit the material, particularly in sinus lift sites.

We were lucky enough to be provided with some of this free of charge as we are pretty big Geistlich customers and was able to use on 2 patients a couple of weeks ago. It is a fabulous product. It’s a fabulous way to dispense the material, which increases accuracy and speed, therefore decreasing stress to the clinician and operation time for the patient.

If you haven’t come across this variation of the product, have a look at it and speak to Geistlich. Try it next time you do a sinus lift, it is truly fantastic. The only minor criticism I have is that the nozzle is quite large but I suspect it has to be this big to allow the particles to emerge; therefore the sinus window needs to be large enough to accommodate this.

We have added this into our sinus lift armory and along with the modification of the process by lining almost every lift with Bio-Gide membrane, we feel it improves the results we get for our patients.

A huge recommendation from me.
