Tribes

Seth Godin

I have revisited this book myself recently and decided it is time to post it as one of the books for 2013.

There are a dozen Seth Godin books that I could put in my blog to read and later in the year I will post about The Icarus Deception, which is his recent book, but Tribes is absolutely fundamental and crucial. It explains our need to be part of something bigger, it explains our need to be lead, which I feel really strongly about. I want someone to lead me within my profession, I want someone to lead me as I try to train for triathlons and I want other people to lead me to show me an example of how to be a better person.

Godin explains this fantastically and it is something that you can take back to work and explain to anyone you work with. It is why social media works, it’s why the triathlon club works, it’s why I feel proud when I pull on my race suit which has my clubs names on, even though nobody understands it.

It is a really easy read like all of Godin’s books and it is really quite inspiring. If you are into any of this stuff then I would recommend you get it, perhaps on audio book because it is read by Godin.

Check it out.
