Were you chosen to keep up with?
Who is your yardstick?
Everyone is racing against someone, trying to keep up with an idol; financially or morally or educationally or socially or physically or any number of other ways.
Keeping up with the Joneses is part of your internal fabric and almost impossible to resist.
The choice of your joneses though, that’s a choice.
Taking a step back to look at who you’re comparing yourself too is perhaps a step in the right direction towards becoming more contented and happy when you realise (as most of us do) that most of the joneses we keep up with are not playing the same game.
