The 2nd November is the date now for the TCC charity ball.
This will be our 6th ball and it’s now become the thing that we all hoped it would become, which is a day in the diary each year.
I don’t know how much money this has raised now, but it’s a lot, tens of thousands for the charities that we select and this year the charities are as follows:
- Bridge2Aid (I’ve supported them from the start of this and way beyond, this is the one that I choose)
- Frame Work
- We R Here
- Children’s Bereavement Centre
These are the charities chosen by everyone in the practice for our social legacy projects.
We’re going back to our original venue for the first ball which is Park Plaza in Nottingham, it’s a tight busy venue that fits about 180-200 people and no more.
We want to make it scarce and difficult to get a ticket, because that will make it seem more special.
It’s fine to try and fill a room with 500, but it’s better to have a smaller group with people that are really committed.
The first ball was still one of the best, I think.
We’re going back to the same theme for the first one too, which is Halloween, so it’s compulsory fancy dress on Halloween weekend, be as creative as you like, or just put on a dress or a suit and put some blood round your mouth.
But the usual fun and games will carry on and me pestering people to donate money.
We have now attracted a regular group of people, who support the ball massively and I don’t really want to name any names, because then I will probably leave someone out, but the effort and the involvement by my accountant Steve Martin and his group of friends have been nothing short of extraordinary.
These are the guys who turned up as a pantomime horse and as the bobsleigh in Cool Runnings, amongst other things.
So, we have a cohort who attend this and be committed but we would like you to come too.
If you want details then email Hayley whose email is shown below, we will send you a flyer and start to take some money off you now.
We really, really hope to see you there, it will be in the midst of all the madness, when we will just about be getting ready to open the new practice, but still a really important thing for us to do.
