The direction of ideas

If we can assume there is an up and a down in your business or organisation, perhaps the person who owns the place and the newest member of the team, who is learning the job in both different directions, and if we understand that the ups and downs have a flow between them, then I wonder where the ideas are coming from in your organisation.

If all the ideas come from the up and from the top, then the people closer to the down (the bottom) will just wait for the ideas to come and take action on what they're told to do.

If you can work on developing a culture and an environment where people are heard, where their ideas are listened to and considered, and where they may be implemented or maybe not, but at least discussed, then the ideas will start to come from the other parts.

Then, your job is not to have all the ideals (if you are at the top); your job is to curate the ideas, bring them together, and make them into something marvellous that everybody helps to create.

That sounds a lot better, doesn't it?
